Best Wishes for the Tutorials beginning 2007/01/30Best wishes for you all at the ActiveMath tutorial Jan/Feb 2007. Any chance, you could please make available the outcomes and/or lessons learnt/still to be learnt to the guinea pigs ;-) who attended last July? summary report after the tutorial
Albert,
It was actually the first time we had such a large scale installation on never-seen machines and things went somewhat wrong wrt to installation so we got drowned into technical problems. The tutorial was then walked through too fast with some extra bugs on top.
I believe participants have discovered a bit of ActiveMath though and have a conceptual grasp of the workings but their experience was, by far, not smooth enough and we have to polish this better with some explicit tasks and tests on each and every machine before they can enter the tutorial.
The agenda page contains links to each of the teaching material. That’s probably the best place to look at.
In the meantime we are working on organizing ActiveMath-EU workflows and communication as well as making detailed, as text and videos, each of the tasks that should appear in a tutorial.

Re: Summary Report
Paul,
Thank you for your feedback.
You taught me last July, that it is best to bring one’s own machine, properly pre-configured, or use a set-up machine, having been customised and having been put to use for the intended purposes. I am thankful for your advice.
Looking forward to your tutorial materials. I would like to volunteer as a tester. This is only natural in an evolving project.
